Overview

SSAD Social Security Advocates for the Disabled (SSAD) is a specialized advocacy organization dedicated to helping you apply for and obtain Social Security Disability Insurance. In addition, we help Medicare beneficiaries navigate the complexities of their health insurance options to identify the best coverage possible based on their unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and effectively manages assigned overpayments
  • Assesses the claim and determines best course of action
  • Communicates with assigned claimant base regarding collection of overpayments, reimbursement requirements, status of overpayments and all other aspects of the benefit integration process.
  • Corresponds directly to various parties to maximize overpayment rate and ensure timely results
  • Responds in a timely manner to claimant concerns and/or questions regarding overpayments
  • Identifies complex claim scenarios requiring escalation to Management
  • Prepares accurate and timely entries into their customer data management systems
  • Perform other job related duties and special projects

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus 4-6 years’ experience with group disability claims a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, oral/written communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task within team and handle project work
  • Must be an effective problem solver, possess good decision-making skills, and be a team player
  • Strong math, contract interpretation and MS Office skills required
  • Must be able to maintain high degree of accuracy, pay strict attention to detail, and manage a large volume of work in progress
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to work independently
